I chuckled a few times.

Kind of amusing. Only major qualm I had was the line stolen from The Simpsons. Pickle Moses saying "Let my pickles go", is a direct quote from The Simpsons, made in the same context. I don't exactly see where it even fits in, in this movie.

Artsy and Unique

I typically only write reviews to point out flaws, or express disdain, but I had to make an exception for this movie.

This is one of the best flash movies I've seen in a long time. Good pacing, very unique artwork and character design, interesting story and action. I simply have to give credit where it's due, and this movie is worth every bit of praise.

While some movies rely heavily on self-reference, you can tell that The Ballad of CrippleKane wasn't made solely for the author. It was made to be enjoyed by others, unlike animations like Gravitaxis, which are bogged down by half-baked ideas only included for the sake of the author.

Again, I have to say that I absolutely loved the character designs. They don't piggy-back off the success of anime, nor do they appear sloppy like many other flash movies. The artwork is crisp and pleasing.

Two words: Pacing Issues.

It moved exceptionally slowly, and the fact that 90% of the movie was slow motion didn't help the pacing.

On the plus side, it was an interesting (albeit confusing) idea to base a movie off of. It was certainly attention grabbing enough to keep me watching through to the end, or what I guess is the beginning.

Lastly, I'd advise you to use motion and shape tweens in moderation. I know it's a bit more work to animate frame by frame, but there are some points in the movie that just looked awkward because of the use of motion and shape tweens.

Oh, and the music fit well, and was pleasing to the ears.

Boring

This is quite possibly the most overrated flash file on newgrounds. I'll admit that its quite solidly created ( graphics and sound wise) but the gameplay is just boring and repetetive. So you beat up some kid, BIG DEAL. Lets not have to repeat this over and over again. Honestly how is this so highly rated?

Okay "btriangle", who are you to say that its not the right way to make an explosion. You're an idiot. There is no right or wrong way to make an explosion. Burn in hell. Nice flash by the way.
